Wheel bearings

So did you use the HD one for the ABS side? I’m curious, because I’d prefer to use a German/Japanese bearing if available.
I didn’t no, more through ignorance than anything else. Saying that, thankfully I have never been in the situation where abs made any difference.

Sorry duck, the thread was about wheel bearings, You've introduced the encoder bearings required for Harley ABS sensors.
Had you made it clear at the start, your very specific requirements, I'd have kept my recommendation of a very good bearing, and seal supplier to myself.

You know this is the Harley forum? Doc’s bike is a Harley RKS with ABS. I introduced nothing. We then started talking about Doc’s specific requirements.

Surprisingly, I have noticed it being a Harley forum, Doc posted pictures of All Balls bearing kits, which I rate as pricey cheap shit, so thought I'd put a link to where good bearings can be had at good prices.
If a bearing that's specific to a particular function on any machine, it will have been made to the spec required by the customer, Harley in this case, by their chosen bearing manufacturer, so unless you know someone who has access to Harleys bearing maker, it'll have to be Harley who take your hard-earned cash, and probably plenty of it.
Run-of-the-mill bearings, 99% of them, can be had from any bearing supplier, Simply Bearings being one of many.

For best, as you can feel if they’re “gritty/dry”, but if not, on stand that lifts wheels off and feel for play.
wheel off the floor , spin the wheel , put your hand on the mudguard , you'll feel them .
brown water coming out is another giveaway.

Yet you still failed to notice the big letters ABS in Doc’s post. I’m fairly confident most people can find a decent bearing suppliers for non-specific bearings. Indeed my favourite ex-brother-in-law used to work for Wyko and now owns his own bearing and seal company. None of which is remotely useful for supplying Harley ABS cider bearings for Doc.

When I changed tyres on my Buell XB12STT I changed the bearings at the same time...I used SKF I think they were, wheel was out, so just do it. Seems HD are cost cutting once again!
Bearings are cheap enough, change them.

Thanks for the input lads and i appreciate everyones help.
I dont have a local bearings place so the ones from ARH custom look ok and i know they will fit.
I am def no mechanic but fancy giving it a go than doing my usual thing and letting the dealer do it.
I dont mind spending the money and looking online they all look about the same price to me.

Gents, I apologise. I know some of you guys were just trying to be helpful. I guess I’m still not in the right frame of mind to be reading/posting on this forum.

Err…the ABS sensor bearings?
Gotcha magnet in the ball race. Seen that arrangement in a few cars but not a motorcycle. Probably done that way to avoid the aesthetic compromises of an ABS ring. Kind of scuppers options for quality parts though. (y)
