OK so I don't know if I am being unreasonable in thinking that the damage pictured below to my GSA wheel is unreasonable. I have used the same bike mech for small jobs for years so when it comes to fitting a tyre to a loose wheel I went to him.

On getting off the bike today I noticed this scratch in the anodised finish down to the aluminium.

Be interested to hear your thoughts..

I'd be more concerned with the grey pube he left behind.

It's an adventure bike. It's going to get marks and scratches so don't get to anal about it .... Black marker pen = job done :thumby:

Yes that's my plan - I am not really OCD about things like this but wondered if I should be more pissed off. It won't be the last scratch!

Eventually most wheels end up damaged from tire changes. If your guy has been good so far, I would mention it to him next time, maybe be more careful, but I wouldn't make a huge deal over it.

Black sharpie and go on.

When I took painted wheels in for tyres I would clean them up so that they were spotless and because of that they were always very fussy and certainly never damaged them.

To damage an anodised rim like that is careless and if that was my wheel I would be pretty pissed off. If they are experienced fitters they should not mark your rim at all.

+1
It's always wise to thoroughly clean the wheels and tyres. Fitters should be careful, but bits of grit can get under their rim protectors and cause damage. Saying that the scratch pictured looks like the wheel has slipped in the tyre fitting machine.

I used to use RB Motors in Stafford - absolutely great for tyre changes (and other stuff) and they dynamically balance the rear wheel.

Now in South Devon, I need to find someone as good to do the next set of tyres.
