Hi all,

Two of my disc bolts rounded off due to age/ corrosion. I drilled one of them out and helicoiled it which worked fine but other one didn't work so well and the inevitable happened in that I now have a larger hole that the M8 helicoil. Doesn anyone have any experience of metal type fillters etc with respect to this type of thing. Failing that, does anyone esle have any good repair ideas?

Wurth Time Sert ?

I've always used Heli-coils but I've also heard great reports for Wurth Time Serts and as they are "solid" as opposed to a Heli-coil "spring" I assume the thread diameter for the insert would be a larger diameter? Worth(Wurth:rolleyes:) looking in to?

Cheers.......................Grizzly:beerjug:

if it was inevitable, you perhaps should of left it alone!:augie
as suggested above the wurth timesert may be a larger diameter and may do the job.
one way around it would be to tig weld the hole to fill it then redrill/helicoil.
best start looking for a replacement wheel as it sounds like it is scrap.
there is not much metal there to start with if is the front one.:(
