I know people are going to call me Knob for this question, But is there really a need for it. Its only about 1.5mm thick but it makes the wheel a twat to get back on.
I know it's a spacer to centralise the rear wheel but does 1.5mm make that much difference.
Cheers

i found myself wondering that as i wrestled to get an 1150 wheel back on recently.

ABS bikes = Spacer, must have item to get correct ABS Sensor Gap

Non ABS Bikes (factory spec) = No Spacer

Luckily both mine are non ABS, so I don't have to faff with the twatting thing:D

ah!

makes sense. the abs ring is on the disc carrier which annoyingly comes off with the wheel on the 1150, meaning the caliper also has to be removed. yet another annoyance.

Soooooo, since I've removed my ABS can I ditch the spacer? :nenau

Also, a while ago I bought a spare wheel bolt and cut off the head. I screw that into one of the holes in the hub and it makes mounting the rear wheel SO much easier, even with the twatting spacer. :D

Adhere it to the wheel with two or three thin smears of araldite. Job done!
