Wheelie :-) You Know You Want To !!!

Can someone confirm is it really as nailing the throttle wide open in whichever gear? You don't have to dump the clutch or anything scary like that?

Nailing the throttle in first will bring the front wheel up every time. Takes a bit of nerve, as it feels like it will flip if you just nailed it and held it. I have occasionally lifted the front wheel (but not held it for more than a second or two) by giving it full throttle in second.

My favoured approach is to wheelie over a bump or crest in second at 20 or 30. Exits from roundabouts* are a favourite. Doing this, I feel like I'm almost in control and can "hold" the wheelie for some distance. And when it lands it's nice and gentle, too. Never changed gear though - too much of a cissy, I guess.

* Those roundabouts you often find on race tracks, obviously...

Your friend is THE one on the left

Snapping the throttle is the fast way to A&E, the leaver on the left allows you to pop it up smoothly, if it jumps up just a dab on the lever brings it all bak. Trust me i'm a wheelie GOD:D When you start loosing it its very hard to roll off the gas, I used to wheelie 2st bikes and you don't get alot of time when your on the power to bring things bak into shape.:thumb

There are many ways and everyone does it different, just try to control the throttle and feel the ballance point
I never use the clutch does not need it , always cover the back brake,
I've wheelied 2 strokes 4 strokes since racing as a child, been to America with some hardcore bike stunting guys, all ride their own way practice makes perfect on a private road, just enjoy and take care
