A few pictures:
Thanks to Mort and Petcul for an excellend day out - even if my bike does need a lot of TLC now (near-side fork leg dumped its oil over the front of the engine and something in the transmission is now very rough indeed

).
Serves me right for trying to keep up with all those 1200s that actually go around corners - unlike my 100GS that always tries to run wide.
Amazing to meet the first owner of my 100GS and hear some of its history. It seems that it has been to Greece twice and has been 'hooned' around the Alps. Now I need to find the other nine previous owners and fill in the gaps

.
As usual, I have ended up with a lot of pictures of parked bikes. I really must set up a camera mount on the bike and get some action shots.
So . . Photos.
I left Edinburgh at 07:45 this morning and arrived at the Wentworth Cafe where I had coffee and a toasted sandwich.
I was far too early
However the bike park soon filled up and we had 15 starters (I'll not mention the war

).
Sir James was there . . here seen talking to Aldie (yes, that is a Varadero and it went very well - it doesn't belong to either Sir James or Aldie though).
Riders re-group while someone shuts the last gate. We had just ridden up the track in the background.
Peter Cullen re-mounting after opening a gate.
Some of the raid party waiting at a junction while Peter tries to establish where the missing riders are (you'd think he would have a procedure for that by now

).
At the lunch stop.
A 'photo opportunity' high in the hills.
There's always time for some 'catching up'
We split into two groups in the Kielder Forrest - those who were going to the finish in Powburn and those who had other engagements.
At Powburn, we ended up here . . .
Farewells were said, and we went our respective ways.
I arrived home, on the outskirts of Edinburgh, at around 19:30 hrs, having covered just over 300 miles. I had a great day out in wonderful countryside and I managed not to drop the bike

.
Thanks again guys (and girl, must'nt forget 'Georgia'), see you all again sometime.
Bob.
