Fed up cleaning the bloody things so thinking of a coat of Smootherite, cant decide to go silver or black :D

Anyone painted theirs ?

why dont u get em coated?

Do you mean as in properly, as in strip them down then have them rebuilt with new spokes ? Or pop alone to the local coaters and tell them just to go for it ? In saying that suppose I'd still need to remove the tyres :eek

you might do better to keep a thread going in the 'wanted' section in case someone with a late 1100 decides to go for a 'cast wheel' conversion.

Painting 'may' work.. but will be a very fiddly job to end with a good result. breaking down the wheels and having them powder coated sounds good in practice but would be very expensive. Keep your eyes peeled for a pair of late wheels for sale.. you can easily offset the price by selling those older ones. will always be people wanting a spare set for 'off roading'

you could do either, checked at coaters (local)25 quid a complete wheel

I all ready have a spare front wheel from an 1150GS. GSA wheels would do with there coated rims, might have to visit Franco and swap them when he's not looking :P

Wonder if the rims could be annodised ?

not sure but i think that the Devon Rim Co are the only peeps set up to do rebuilds on these tubeless rims:confused:
if so get them done , might be pricey but worth it:thumb2

Cheers, i'd been looking for that company, couldn't remember their name :thumb2

Bloody expensive, £65 for the spokes and £55 for rebuliding, plus what ever blasting and coating costs.

Cheaper solution ;)
:D:D:D:D:D savage :D:D:D:D:D

Ive put alloys of the 1150r in mine and stashed my mint wires for selling on later ..........handles well too :beerjug:
