Just a quicky, probably for the likes of Steptoe...

Will the wheels from a 2003 R1150RT fit a '99 R1100GS? I beleive they will, but what's the script for mounting the rear brake disk?

Cheers,

Dave.

i have had 1150RT alloys on my 1100 for several years. The rear disc is irrelevant to the swap as the disc doesn`t bolt to the wheel itself. The rear wheel swap is simplicity iteself, a simple swap, but you do need different length bolts.
The front wheel swap requires a speedo drive swap. Motorworks sell them.

RT to GSA

........

but from GS to RT it fith,(in a way)!..
During winter I use a RT wheel on my GSA,,but I have to use the Disk and the spidometer drive from the GSA on the RT wheel..
I dont know if it rekomented on a long trip,,but lokal trips I live with it...

Mark:
Cheers for that, I take it the discs bolt to the FD; how does that happen? (They're on the wheel on the spoked version...)

Kawanor:
What are those tyres? Wouldn't mind some for my spare spoked 'winter' wheels! :bounce1

Mitas Sport Extreme 644 Army,, Made for snow and ice, most of the "winterdriver" in Scandinavia use this tyre.

Dragonmaster, did you suss the rear disc? Having pulled my rear apart to sort the FD, as in my thread, I was thinking I'd finally fit my alloys that have been waiting in the wings. I've got an 18" 3spoke RS/RT rear, and like you my disc is on the wheel but need it mounted to the hub for the alloys.
Did you find a suitable carrier, does its reuse the original disc, or do I need to buy a disc with carrier? Something like a K12RS one?
Cheers?
