Hi all. Just having my 1990 1150 wheels redone by Talon (who have decided they cant do them!) so I picked up some cast wheels to keep me going, however front wheel has no speedo drive, I use the bike all the time (when its got wheels) and don't want a digital speedo. Has anyone machined the cast wheels to take a speedo drive and if so do you have any advice, other than don't !

Advice is usually no good after the event, but here goes... Buy a cast front wheel that's from a model that has a speedo drive in the front wheel. You need one from an R1150R, for example.

You need this guy... not cast wheels... beemur spoked wheels are buggers to work on, but this guy will do the business...

Hi Doug has my wheels after Talon have decided they cant do them ( 5 MONTHS!!!!!!!!) however have also got a front rs wheel which will take a drive so with any luck will now be skint having to buy tyres and discs and speedo drive as well as have spoked wheels redone! Maybe I should have bought another gs.

+1 for this company. They were very easy to deal with last year when I had to get my front wheel redone and did a cracking job.

IIRC the kit car guys use Sigma because some of the others throw a wobbly above about 60mph.
