When does it need a service.

I bought my 1150GS in Jan, from a local dealer. It had 17k on the clock, and had last been serviced at 16229 miles in Nov 05 (I assume when they took in in as p/ex). It's now done 18k, and I've read somewhere that there is an 18k service. The service book says that the last service was a 6k service, am I up to date ?
Also the front fork brace is showing the corrosion that many speak of, does anyone know if the used warranty covers replacement of corroded parts??

The last service should have been a 12k ( major), not a 6K ( minor) . If you now have a 6k service, when it gets to the next big one (24K), some things will never have been changed since the 600 mile 1st service i.e. gearoil, rear bevel oil,

Could be that the service at 16k was an early 18k not a late 12k .. aren't services done by time elapsed or mileage, whichever it reaches soonest? What other services are marked up in the service logbook?

The service book states that a service was done at 10153 miles in Jan 05, the next one was the 16229 one, there was no 6k or 600 mile check done according to the book. I'm hoping the 10k one was an early 12k ! It would appear that no service was carried out on the bike in it's first 3 and a bit years unless the previous r/o did it himself.
