....when you download them from Mapsource?

I have only recently got the 660 and want to download a load of waypoints that I have accumulated over the years with my SPIII. I have downloaded loads today but where do I look on the 660 to find them? I have looked in Favourites where some of them have appeared (all English Heritage locations) but loads of others are nowhere to be found:nenau

Any ideas what has happened here.

Just a thought, but is there a filter? On the 2610 you can select "all" or "near here" from memory. If "near here" is selected, then waypoints which aren't near here won't show. My guess is there is a way of changing the list to "all".

Is it possible that you have different Categories of waypoints and you are just looking at one on the unit? Just a thought....

You need to "import" them from "my data". HTH :thumb2

I can only go into My Data on the 660 when it is disconnected from the PC - as soon as I take the battery cover off to connect the USB port then I lose the access into the 660 unit functions. Am I doing something wrong here:blast

Download from PC
Disconnect, battery cover back on (stiupid design to have to do this)
On 660
Tools
My Data
Import Data
routes, or thinking about it maybe Favourites
You can then pick points you want

Then again I may be wrong

It's not very intuative is it?

No it's not.and just another reason why I am spending money getting a new screen on my 2610. I just plug it in,download the waypoints and they appear on the device. I don't have to go though the above palaver at all. I suppose Garmin would call it progress but it looks to me as if Garmin have taken on some ex Microsoft programmers-the sort that gave us computers where you have to click "start" when you finally have enough of the bloody thing and just want to turn it off.

Odd this...I have never done that (and never had a problem). I have always used the "Send to Device" button in Mapsource (with the unit connected via USB). You then have a choice to send routes, waypoints etc. Sent waypoints are visible after on the 660 under Favourites as soon as you disconnect the USB and replace the battery cover and the unit restarts. When you view Favourites on the unit, you can view selected or All categories. Oh well, who knows?

Think it imight be the difference between the old Mapsource and the new 'improved' Basecamp :augie

Thanks guys, I am using the Send to Device tool in Mapsource, the odd thing is that some waypoints are showing up on the 660 but some just seem to disappear even though I get the message from Mapsource that the download has completed ok. :nenau

Just a watchout, if your downloading from seperate Mapsource pages or routes you can overwrite the information, best to do it one mapsource page/route at a time, disconnect from the pc between transfers.
I'm sure someone will come along with a better method of avoiding this problem.:hide
