Where do you buy your computers?

Ditto.

Been using/recommending Dell for the last 10 years, and they've always delivered in all respects.

I have in the past always been a dell fan, never any problems
But my last home machine has been a disapointment, vieo card parked up and the dvd burner, while things can go wrong the after sales back up is through India which can become frustrating when trying to expalin a problem to a person who's first language is not the same as yours, you tend to spend hours on the phone.
I still rate the machine but would only buy another one with UK support

PC world
don't everybody.:augie
Sony VAIO for £400 Who would'nt.
i would imagine most home users use somebody like pc world.[price based]

Strawberry global in london for business machines not a bad bunch, tend to stick with HP Compaq cos they seem to crash less than other makes.

Essex

I'm in Essex too - have a man who has sorted me out for about five years now with no problems.
I have used others in the past twelve years but this man has built to my requirements every time (friendly, efficient, responsive & competetive) - would have gone down the Mac route if the CAD programme I use was supported but it isn't.
Contact me if you want his details - I'm running XP Pro x 64 Edition with dual hard drive - AMD athlon processor with 2GB RAM - no freezes or lost info for over two years now (with a very memory hungry collection of programmes).

You have a grip with them? :nenau

gripe;;; No not really just think that the whole thing is totally over rated. I am sure they will be fine, just not any better than anything else.

A m8 here in the village bought one last year and the HD dropped dead. They couriered a new one out to him and I spen,t half an hour on the phone to a lovely chap in India coz they can't sort they're ferkin software out. But this is a home user. And if all the above is true should not be a problem to you.

Windows plug and play, "Not if its a Dell"
