where do you mount your 550 on a gsa

Hi All,

My new 550 should be here any day now and i was just wondering where you mount yours, i would like to mount it on the top support bar but from the photos ive seen the unit seems to cover the rev counter ?.

Can it be lifted higher or do i need an additional ram mount thingy

views welcome..... and any ribbing of course

You need an evolution zumo mount. Beautiful piece of kit.
It puts the gps in the perfect line, does not interfere with the clocks at all and does not suffer from vibration like the supplied ram mount.
Very lightweight and super strong aircraft grade alluminium.
You wont be dissapointed.

Does this mean you dont use the ram mount at all and the Zumo cage fits straight onto the billet mount ?, sorry for sounding a but thick but as my Zumo hasnt arrived yet im sort of talking blind without the pics.

Seems it was quite popular so if its the muts nuts, as you say, i will take it off your hands.

Hi LBL,

The 550 should come with the Rammount fittings enabling you to mount the device on the upper screen cross bar of a 1200GSA. That will do you well enough for your jaunt in a couple of weeks.

I use a Migsel mount (a sort of solid block version of the spacecraft like device in Bengaz's picure). Migsel will ship you one out by return.

Here's how I mount mine with the standard RAM mount kit supplied. It covers the speedo a bit when in the cradle, but then the GPS is more accurate
