Where have all the midges gone?

I'm not upset but.......


After spending the the last 3 months in Talebanland where the mossies are a bit big and the RPG's even bigger, I am a little sad to see that there appear to be no midges left to run away from?

I came back last week and then went straight up to Skye where I rented a lovely house on the beach at a place called Ord. I went out onto the balcony with my bottle of vino and expected to get invaded by midges but not one.....and not one all week???


So....what has happened?? - can someone tell me please?
