Where is everyone

All winter fairies or at least I am
Mine is all tucked up waiting for the alt to go and the sun to shine

In a u turn of titanic proportions I've cancelled my GSA order and am awaiting one of these beauties for March, in red.

just shows how good the XR is nothing to moan about.

On another note, I bought a locking sat nav mount today, so will fit that tomorrow as it's only a matter of time before I leave the nav on the bike and it gets nicked!

May be seeking some of your advice on where to look, ol' Nippy seems short on products! Heavier bar end weights, mra vario , cotton reels, rim tape and tail tidy will have to do for starters.

Luggage i will sort out later, off to Spain in September, might go for Ventura, it's served me well before.

Cymarc does the heavier bar end weights.:thumb

Evotech do some good accessories, such as the tail tidy and rad guards.

You can spend loads on the BMW HP stuff as well, plus a fruitier exhaust, but it depends how much you want to spend. Don't put S1000XR into eBay, as you'll find a load of stuff you never thought you'd need!:D

Cheers Nutty. I've seen the cymarc weights, also read something about the bolts not sitting flush. Not sure about that.

Think I will order those evotech parts, the rizoma tail tidy is £180 which seems a bit on the steep side for a bracket.

Yep, hooters uses the cheap bolts for his bar ends, but BMW do longer bolts if you want the factory look.:thumb

Don't bother with the rizoma tidy, as it's a rip off. The evotech one is cheaper and does the job.:thumb

What are the longer bolts off I.e. Which BMW ? How much are they can I ask?

I think they're off an rt, but can't remember how much they were. Will try and find out for you.

Would like to see a pic of that fitted, as its one pain in the butt having to remove it each stop.

ave been playing with mine in the garage, venture shield on the body parts,,

Evo tech rad/oil guard plus fork bobbins and swing arm bobbins.

Too much snow to take it for a spin.

Just ordered some SW-Motec engine bars, had them put it on the website at Motohaus, a lot cheaper than Wunderlich stuff.

So after 6 months 8k miles + a new engine I still could not gel with my Gs I seemed to be sensitive @ 80 mph and vibes/resonance I did try a couple others any way the XR is like my RR except comfy able deal done hopefully I will continue with a clean slate and for the record one mans vibes is another's mans smooth . Horses for courses and all that .

Funnily enough I was at a mate of mines' yesterday who said exactly the same thing. His garage is a bot of a BMW fest (HP2 Motorsport, HP4, XR and GSA LC) he only rides the GSA when on pillion duty otherwise he will take the XR over the GSA every time. He mentioned on the GSA that at 80 ish, the vibes are bad and the bike reacts to very small throttle movements making for jerky progress. I found the same on mine, which is one of the reasons I went back to a TC....much better touring bike IMO.

Oh, and the build quality was much better on the XR but still not close to his wife's Yam MT07 at £6k!
