Where to go from London for a few hours ride

battersea here. how about catching up for a ride and beer with those of you living nearby?

actually, considering the weather, l would like to take tomorrow Friday 25th Sept off - l will know later today or first thing tomorrow morning like by 9am.

any of you in central london is already planning a ride?

Goodwood aerodrome cafe is a good target from w London. More good roads than you can shake a stick at.

bike stops

go for breakfast at Nerlands Corner, Bury Hill, Loomies or Rykas (google them) and talk to local biker folk for suggestions

NW London here.

It's not really close, but the road to Bath (A4) is a nice stretch of fast asphalt. :) and there are some nice smaller roads on the way.
You just need to pass Reading though (sometimes is better to get off the M4 at J12).

Otherwise, as others already said: Surrey.

To add some more confusion:

Get lost! - literally.

The best rides I have been out on have been when I have just gone off, following roads that 'looked interesting' . Some will be crap, some will be cracking.

head out through richmond park, past chessington world of adventures, down to boxhill, quick cuppa, then head south (A24?) till you hit the A272, head west, keep going till you get bored ( you won't! ) then turn round and back the same way A272 is a pretty good ride, plenty country pubs......

+ 1 for this route:thumb2

Just moved to West London - I don't use my bike to commute and am spending less time on it than I'd like

Where does one go for a ride for a few hours ?

May be lunch somewhere in the country with some nice roads to travel on?

It probably has to be to the west - or I'll spend most of the time just getting out of town!

Thanks for any ideas

Mehul

Hi Mehul

Welcome to the smoke. I'm in Chiswick. I do quite a bit of off road on my GSA; dunno if you are interested in any of that; if so, give is a shout.

Mike.

Hi Mike

Thanks for that. I've never been off road on mine - I have thought about it but never done it. I might take you up on that.

Cheers

Mehul
