Bought oem tank for 04-07 1200gs. Purchased the velcro to attach the bag to tank but have no idea where exactly I should put it. Could someone please help?

At a guess, I would offer the tankbag up against the tank, see where it fits, and then add the velcro appropriately.

That is an excellent guess as to the best method of positioning the velcro appropriately and not approximately.

So do I have to really stretch the bag fasteners to position the velcro under the seat line?
I'm struggling to remember the OEM as I have the Touratech version.
But.....
If the velcro is under the seat line then you would need to take the seat off to get the bag off???
That sounds like a PITA.

No the velcro then attaches to a zipper which I assume would come past the seat.

The shackle that holds my 07 bmw tank bag has a strip of dual lock on it. The "velcro" that came with my bag was of the dual lock type. What I did was mate the dual lock strip to the the shackles dual lock then fit the shackle to the tank panel.
I have just tried to purchase a second shackle. The shackle has a dual lock strip, but for some reason BMW now supply a "velcro" kit for this not dual lock. I was told that I would have to find a way attach the "velcro" to the shackle.
I have now been to ebay to get some dual lock.

On mine the Velcro sits just above the seat line by maybe an inch or so. You might want to put something protective between the bag and your tank as mine's scuffed the tank after only one or two uses.
