Where's me music?

Wahoooooooooooo! :bounce1:clap:roll I've only gone and managed to load some songs onto my micro sd card and my Zumo has found them! :bounce1:bounce1:bounce1

Thanks to all who gave the tips!:bow

I keep an eye on I tunes now ... download what I want, changed to MP3 and add to the Zumo on a one at a time basis ... simples :thumb

You need to change the format of each song you have to MP3 and then drag it across into the zumo card folder when plugged in to the computer....

I've got around 200 tunes from my Itunes collection and I had to convert every one ;)

Ive have saved my ITunes songs on to my Zumo but they show up as movie files. Other folders are JPEG and AUDIBLE - ive dragged a few songs in to them but nothing shows up as MP3 songs on the Zumo. :(

I haven't popped an SD card in yet - it says its optional on the manual but maybe its essential? :nenau

Itunes files are not MP3 by default, so it's unlikely that your itunes files are compatible, which is probably why they are showing up as movies.

Either Google for batch converters for iTunes to MP3, or re-rip your files in iTunes and tell it that you want to use MP3 format as the default. To make life easier, you might want to use Windows Media Player or similar to do the re-ripping, so you can tell more easily which files are which.

If you have downloaded iTunes files from the Apple store, you will obviously need to find a way of converting them.

Go to the Music library in your iTunes programe on your PC.

Right click the song in itunes that you want to convert to MP3. Click on the words 'convert to MP3' and itunes will create a separate MP3 version of the same song and list it in your Music library immediately underneath the original version of the song.

Then minmise your itunes screen to half size.

Connect your 660 to the computer with the media card installed in the 660.

Open the My Computer icon on Windows and you should see your Garmin card listed as a removable disk.

Minimise the My Computer window so that you can see both the itunes window and the My Computer window.

Drag the MP3 versions of the songs you have created in iTunes and drop them into the Garmin removable disk in My Computer screen

Disconnect the GPS from the PC. Put the backcover back on. Go to the Media Player program on the GPS and you should find your MP3 files there.

Play one and you should hear some pleasant noise being the sound of the song that you have chosen to listen to. Do not hum or sing along. A small dance or jig of joy is permissable if you are alone.

I did this last night and all went well.

Download free studio manager, copy all your music files to a new folder from your iTunes library and then do a massive convert.
Open up your Zumo memory card folder and copyand paste.
Did around 3.5GB worth last night and put them all on this morning, now have 246 music files and 16 audio books to listen to, it's going to be a long rude before I've listened to them all 8-)
