Hi, I've tried to work out which ABS is fitted on my GS. Its registered late march 2007, one tag on the diagnostic plug loom says 11/2006.
I've looked at the wiring diagrams, the 2006 bike has a yellow/white wire going from the ABS to the plug: Mine hasn't got one, which points to 2007 model.
The V5 says its a R1200GS 04, but I have no idea what the 04 bit refers to.
Its all working! I've started the bike, applied the front brake, and when you trun the rear wheel, I hear the ABS motors working, and the brake is applied after a second or two.
How do I work out which model bike I have, and which version of ABS?
Thanks again everyone!

nice the one I found here is a good one that updates as options get added - bold went on the bike about 2020 some 13 years down the road from original build

Thanks botus, thats a cracking site, my bike is very similar to yours, says production date is 11/01/2007, so it was made then registered in just over 2 months!
The ABS says the same, X0630 I-ABS gen 2.
My rear brake pedal has a lot of travel before the brake works, I'm thinking I can try bleeding it like a non ABS system?

no problem to try bleeding the brakes the conventional way - but might not get all the air out of the ABS valve block - with decent diagnostics there are a number of functions to allow you to bleed that effectively

Thanks again: Can I buy the diagnostic tool? I've seen a few devices for the Bee Emms but not sure which does what! I drive an Isuzu 4x4, I bought a chinese copy diagnostic kit for that, works perfectly and has saved me a fortune, plus I've fixed a few others for a few £££'s back :D

nasty Chinese dongles are not safe and may not work to get a real features...

when reading fault codes a £10 one might work -but for real stuff they are dangerous and best in the bin a good dongle is £50 to £60

the motoscan app is about £40 from wgsoft - see playstore (only buy the ultimate version)
