I'm looking at buying my first pair of adventure boots. I've been using Daytona touring motorcycle boots for the past few years, but feel that I need something a bit more robust now.

Any recommendations please?

Sidi Adventure GTX.

Put around 18K miles on my Sidi Adventures, needed a resole at about 15K miles which was carried out by a local cobbler using Vibram? Commando soles. The upper leather is looking a little worn but still holding up with no issues baring the resole. They seem to just do the job asked of them rain or shine.

Another vote for the Sidi from me,I think most people find that a size larger than normal is required :thumby:

Got both sidi and forma..... Sidi are watertight, comfortable on and off the bike but they squeak like buggery when walking around and it's so bloody annoying..... Used in all climates for 40000 miles.
Forma are an excellent boot....waterproof, a tighter fit than the sidi but they do loosen up...I find I only need a normal light sock under the forma as they are so warm...
Pay ya money, take ya pick...... Forma are much cheaper.....if I was in a position where my leg was in danger I would prefer the sidi....

I squirted some lithium grease between the plastic buckles and the leather and the squeaks went away. Not sure where they went though!

:thumbDefinitely the Sidis I am at Cairns airport awaiting my long flight home after touring up the eastvcoast from Sydney for nearly four weeks. Torrential rain and floods most of the time. Sidis dry as a bone inside. Superb

Altberg Hoggs. Ride in them all day and then walk in them all evening. Waterproof and no annoying squeaks. First boots that have been comfortable from the off.

You can't beat Daytonas so I would avoid wasting your money :rob

Daytona are good boots I know but if you have an off as I did in a pair the ankle protection is not as good as the sidi I broak both my ankles in Daytona boots

You can beat Daytonas so I would avoid wasting your money and buy something for half the price that are just as good :rob

Fixed for ya.

Daytonas are way overpriced!

Got rid of mine after a year as they leaked! Had TCX infinity for last decade but recently bought a pair of the Formas in the fastest brown colour and I'm very impressed. Very comfy, well made and 100% water proof. No wonder they regularly beat more expensive boots in tests!!
