I have the Autocom 7 on my current bike.

It has my GPS and Ipod connected and I use Duo com earplug "speakers"

I want to keep my old system on my old bike and am looking at an Autocom system for my new bike.

The Autocom 7 has been brilliant, especially with the ear pieces.

I have an option on a 200 duo or a 300 duo. I would like to power my ipod from the autocom if possible, but do not want to use a mobile phone when on the bike. I need a dual rider system.

I'm not sure what advantages the 300 has over the 200.

Any help much appreciated, especially whilst the autocom sale is on.

Cheers

Autocom 7???? if you could let me know which system you are running this would help me to let you know what you might need. As the headsets you have already got could be used on a new system saving you some money.

As for the differences in the systems I am sure that if you read our brochure it will tell you in full the differences between the systems.

Hi Rich, I've looked for the info on the make of my autocom, but I seem to have mislaid it. I recall that it had seven pins and I use it in conjunction with the duo com moulded ear plugs that my wife and I use. I've looked up my old emails to Autocom and in one of them I referred to my unit being a system 6! I'm more confused then ever now.

I've moved the mouthpiece between helmets a number of times due to problems with my ears and the helmet speakers. We now have BMW system 5 lids the mouthpiece has been twisted around to fit. It seems to work ok but is rather unsightly, and might well suffer a fracture due to the number of times the boom mike has been re twisted.

I would ideally like the functionality of my present system but for it to charge my ipod. I do not use a mobile when on the bike but I do use a 2610 GPS unit.

I am looking buying a new bike and although I don't need the speakers for inside the helmet I guess they are standard in all the kits.

As I ride with my wife as pillion we need a unit that can deliver the same quality as the current model. I'm not au fait with all the controls, the unit sits in the tail light of my honda. I recall that it has a squelch dial to set the level to block out the background wind rush and that seems very important when on the move, especially as we can hear the GPS, the Ipod and each other brilliantly.

I would appreciate advice on which unit to buy. I've looked over the brochures on the net but I'm not really any the wiser.

I'm tempted to go for the 300 duo pro as that's got everything rather than finding that I buy a system that does not do as much as my current model.

Sorry for not being able to explain which model I have but I would welcome your assistance

Regards

You would of brought a Kit 6 then which is a Pro-7 Sport, the replacement is our Super Pro AVi via a Kit 300 £117.50.

The ipod can NOT be bike powered via the Super Pro or via any of our systems by the way, you would need to run a seperate power feed along with an isolated music lead (Part 1314 £28)

Sorry to bother you again but would I need the duo version of that?

Thanks

Rich,
Can you clarify the price of the 300 kit. Your website shows £234.99.
Thanks,
Lloyd

The Kit 300 as we have got the sale on is £117.50 and we have sold out of the Duo's. So a Part 1153 and 1179 £45 will need to be added for a second headset and extension lead.

If you have already got a 7 pin headset and lead etc these can be used for the pillion headsets btw.

Do we buy direct from Autocom?
Thanks,

Hi again Rich,
I though this was a good deal so I rushed to P&H Motorcycles in Crawley who said that special offer was no longer available.
They didnt offer to call to check - can you confirm it is still available and can I ask P & H to call someone.
Thanks for your help,
Lloyd.

Well we have still got the solo kits left in stock so the offer is STILL running, as I have said the olny kits we are not selling are the Duo's. So unfortunately P&H are telling you the wrong information.

If you are going to the London Bike show we will be there selling away

John,
Thanks - yes I bought 1 on ebay, hopefully here tomorrow. Great shame as I like to suport my local dealer, I have spent over 10K there since May on 2 new bikes but they couldnt be bothered to make a phone call to check.

Rich what extra do I need to connect a 2610 GPS and a Nokia phone.

Thanks,
Lloyd.

no worries, so for the gps you will need 1x Part 1285 £24 (isolation adaptor block) and a Part 1294 £5 (GPS interface lead)

for the phone you could run a Part 1278 £6 which is 4 pole phone lead but it will plug into the aux 2 on the Pro. This means a 50% mute on any calls when the mic has been opened. or if you could supply me a wired headset that works with the phone lead we could make the headset into a phone lead for you. this will plug into the aux 1 so no muting etc
