Wonder wheel functionality - Which device to buy?

I'm on my 4th NAV6.
However, since getting the latest "CAP" version, it has at last worked (so far, touch wood!) as it should
My CAP version has toured a lot of Europe and UK, and so far it has been excellent.
I do have a Zumo XT on my V100 Stelvio, but stayed with the NAV6 on the GS because of the Wonder Wheel.
Depending on how you intend to use the NAV6, the wonder wheel can really be a helpful thing. I have 500+ tracks of music on a SD card, and my phone connected to the NAV6 (for calls only, not music). I really appreciate I can zoom and and out of the map, do phone functions, change the music track etc, and never be distracted by taking my hands off the bars to do so... It's also great how it retains info from the bike (tyre pressures, tank range etc).
Basecamp is also doing what I want now that I am more experienced in using it
The XT is probably overall a better unit (better graphics, bigger screen, and it has a speaker so you can use it in a car, etc) but the NAV6 with wonderwheel integration is a winner for me and the way I have setup my system.
The CAP version has overcome many of the gremlins of the earlier systems (for me) and I'm delighted I stuck with the NAV6 overall...

Well I went with an XT in the end and removed the nav cradle that came with the bike, I've bagged it up safe so I can refit it if required. I think the XT works really well and was getting on fine with it until my bikes engine shat itself so badly the Reichstag said I'd need a new one. I'm not bitter or anything. I don't really want rid of the bike as soon as I get it back.
I'm happy with the XT though, I've been using it my camper van too.

I went for an XT with the wunderlich adaptor on mt GS so it clicks in the standard cradle. The wheel is a waste of time certainly not worth getting fleeced on a bmw unit for the odd time you need to zoom iin/out imo, down to personal preference at the end of the day but i havent missed it

With the Chigee AIO-5 Lite and the CGRC unit you can use the wonder wheel in conjunction with the indicator switch to control Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and any app that's compatible with those, mirroring from your phone. You can also use the wonder wheel to lock a video or take a photo from the included front and rear cameras, and switch from front to rear camera view. it has a micro SD slot. Takes a little getting used to but once you do it's works well. As an addition it has blind spot detection that works better than I expected as an additional safety check.
Hi, the front and rear camera comment is interesting. Can it be used as dash cam?

Yeah, only the lite version. The play doesn't have it.

Since that post, Chigee have released a new module that links into the LIN-BUS that replaces the CGRC unit. The LIN version allows for machine data to be shown on the screen and video recording. Still allows full control of the camera switching in the same way.

I'll be selling mine in a couple of weeks time if anyone is interested, complete with CAN or LIN module and (non invasive) live connection to the bike. Could be persuaded to fit it too.

I'm sort of interested.
I'm just looking into them, not discovered the differences yet. The cameras then are not built on to back of nav then?
My main issue is that I prefer not to have phone connected and to have local maps .. traditional navigator style rather than screen mirror.
The nav6, even the new one is still not right. the screen is ok for gloves but too sensitive without.

Other option is the connected ride .. but I've not heard too many good things there either.

The camera wires are connected into the back of the unit, Unlike the play version, this isn't removable, But isn't easily nick-able either, it bolts onto the nav bracket. With the LIN module the control of the camera functions and CarPlay apps like google maps or any other nav app you use are fully controllable from the wheel. Unlike the connected ride, which only controls it's own nav functions. I've had them all, but this has been the best for me. I'm changing this for the AIO-6 that's not out yet.

If I don't sell it I'll likely fix it to another bike I have.

No one appears to have mentioned the Carpuride 702 BS benefits are simple

1) Cost
2) Full Wonderwheel use
3) Numerous options for Navigation
4) Ability to use Nav options Offline
5) Streaming of any media if required
6 Ability to see Bike dash options much clearer if required
7) Touch screen if required
8) 7 inch screen

I have the XT having swopped a Nav V for it after the NAV V ceased connecting to my MacBook for some unknown reason. Two major points in my experience advocate for the XT, especially if you ride with others and share pre-planned routes created on, in my case MRA.

Firstly is the ability to load routes from the the route planning app to the XT wirelessly - very convenient and straightforward, secondly is the ability to Bluetooth routes to other suitable Garmin devices. These points have been mentioned above but I find them so handy I thought it worth emphasising

As for the performance of the XT, it is bright, clear and quick. On my GSA which had the BMW satnav prep I used a 3XADM (I think) adaptor to mount and power very successfully
