Try using the "search" button, lots of differing opinions, with no definitive answer!

Altbergs, hand made in England :thumb

Not necessarily. It depends on how big your feet are. I find that the OE pegs with the rubbers removed are fine for my size 43 Sidi Flexforce SRS shod feet.

I use the Alpinestar Tech 4 boot with optional Enduro sole. It's a smashing boot, but not waterproof. Given the antics of a few of our river-crossing tossers, I really don't think that that makes much difference!!

Funnily enough, the two plasticky pads on the top side of my Sidi Couriers came completely unstitched this weekend gone......the stitching had rotted right through and coupled with a bt of hard use, they're flapping away on top of the boot now.

Odd really...it's not like they've ever got wet or anything   :D

Two years and 45k old though...and a bloody good boot......Araldite's the temporary answer but I'll be looking at different boots very very soon (bank manager willing :( )

I'd like to go the Altberg route, and I'ce no doubt from seeing so many reports n them that the're supremely comfy, but I just don't like the lack of protection they offer, particularly for off roading....and I need a boot that will do all of it.

Alpinestars MX boots - solid as a rock and comfy, do it all and loads of protection. Army liners for when it rains suddenly. Toerag goretex for winter/rain commuting.

Sorted.

me thinks i 'll be using my tech 6 boots , save space in the house plus loads of money :thumb

cheers guys :clap

:D :D ive just got a pair of daytona's crosser style boots water proof hand made in germany £250 retailas comfy as my old boots that i took off stright of the bat :D :D

Oxtar TCX - Not water proof and squeak like crazy when you walk in then but they have loads of good mechanical protection, are quite comfortable and I can change gear with them as well!
