I had never heard of Altbergs until now - been in the US for too long . They look real good...and nice pricing if you register. I need something better to replace my Sidi Discovery's which are not waterproof - ask me how I know!

I think I'll order a pair.

Danner Fort Lewis. A bit more expensive than the Alt Bergs, and made in the colonies. However, had my last pair 10 years, and they STILL don't leak
New pair just coz they were on Flea Bay.

Daytona Travel star. Not the cheapest boots out there but you really do get what you pay for. Gortex too. My current pair I've had for 4 years and they are still fresh and comfy.

Seconded: Mine have done famously: recommended.

I only upgraded to Alpinestar Tec 3's as I plan to do more off-roading (he says).

but for what you want they are just right: armour plated, waterproof slippers.

They are so comfy you may forget to remove them for the shower, hence the Goretex.
