Which cases?

I’m decided to go with Holan pannier frames. The idea for now is just to strengthen the tail of the HP2 and combine it with Touratech luggage rack for carrying my camping gear.
I would like your advice about the cases, since Holan can support both BMW 12gs Adv cases (90cm width) and Zega-Touratech cases with cut designed (79cm width). Which kit is lighter? Are both waterproof? Any other idea –suggestions?

Thanks
Michael

I went with the GSA cases for a range of reasons: 1) A friend had one of the panniers going cheap second hand, 2) I'm quite tempted by an GSA at some point so the panniers would move across, 3) I like the BMW bag liners that fit the panniers, keep your kit dry and can be mounted on top of the panniers giving you extra room 4)The girlfriend thinks they look good

In terms of them being waterproof - the secondhand one isn't (i think because it has been bent in a collisision) the new one is. If the kit is important, I always use a liner bag. In terms of weight, I have no idea.

Here is my bike with them mounted:

Mav, there is something seriously wrong in your genetic make-up, to want to do that to 'The Sauce'....

Do you prefer this picture of my sauce:

If I had the money, I would seriously consider an adventure for two up work, I just can't justify it right now. Although, the sauce was surprisingly capable for two up work.

Thanks Mav. I see you’ve done your forks to drshox. I did 2 and very pleased with the result. Changing the air-shock will make everything better with 2up riding. This is one of the reasons I moved to WP.
Girlfriend – HP2 combination it’s quite difficult, not because the bike can’t handle 2 up riding with cases. It’s because all you want to do is to be up in the mountains with your friends.:bounce1 My lady can truly understand this, but in the summer we love to camp, so turning the HP2 into an adventure is the only way to accomplish this with 1 bike.
I like the adventure cases because it seems you can sit on them when camping. Maybe you can with the Zega ones, if you turn them upside down! And that 79 cm are quite tempting…

They are Holan racks. www.holan.pl Unfortunately, Holan can't ship outside the UK as they are Touratech distributors, but they have resellers who will. PM me and I can provide you the contact details. I understand that they have improved the racks by powder coating them - on mine the paint has worn off. But TBH, they are pretty cheap so it's no biggy.

They also require smaller indicator - but that is part of how they manage to keep the overall width so low.

nice news, i understand you can ship to EU countries as Spain ¿Right?

I intended to use my former GS1200ADV original BMW cases but i sold them with the bike cause they were not waterproof. Only good thing about them were the unified lockers with bike ignition key.

I bet now for the Holan Racks for TT cases. Now i see how they look like dirt on Mav´s bike. Good idea the left one cutted to fit around muffler.
TT classic cases lockers i do not like.

Someone from TT told me that TT is going to release very soon an amazing new TT Cases, with a bit more "design" than classic ones.

and I propose the Zega-cases (they are very light) in new HOLAN design (system with left case with cat)

:bounce1 Whooooopeeeee! :bounce1

I paid and placed my order at HOLAN today, they have been EXTREMELY helpful (bearing in mind i live in South Africa). They are shipping them off on friday.

Can't wait.

Is there anything i need to know about the installation, things to look out for?
I also ordered the new numberplate holder and smaller indicators so that's sorted.

Yes Holan is very helpful. UPS lost my first package:spitfire but Holan send me another one without additional costs, which hopefully i will get today.:clap

Ok, so today i received my package from Holan:aidan

I have never tried to sell myself of as a good handy man but i know how to swing a spanner every now and then, unfortunately i am slightly stumped at this point and need some help, because according to me i am finished but there are still some bits left over:blast

So please can someone tell me.

I'd really appreciate some help.

first pic: This is the part for relocating the akra.
The rest is fine. No problem with akra can. Fits fine.

each pic i see of this option i like more, looks really narrow from any angle.

My only doubt is if cases locks with keys are furnished with this set or not. On my former LC8 TT cases set i was unable to install TT locks on them.
