I have a 2015 1200 GSA LC and am looking for some advice re decat headers. I know of 3 options, Remus stainless and Akra stainless and Ti and wondered if anyone can advise which to go for and what the difference is…..Also where's the best place to buy?
Thanks in advance:beerjug:

I got the Akra Ti headers from Calsport. Phone up and speak to Chris, he'll do you a good deal.:thumb

How much weight saving can be had from fitting a full Ti Akra system compared to the standard BMW system, and are there any other real benefits if you don't count sound and looks?

Good questions... Is there much power difference?

Does the BMW HP Akrapovic accessory end can fit onto aftermarket headers? Or do you need to replace everything?

The Ti headers weigh next to nothing. You'd be surprised how much lighter the original headers weigh, due to the cat. The end can isn't as noticeable, but is lighter than the oem end can.

I got Remus headers to go with the Akra can which was already fitted to the bike. They were supplied and fitted by my local BMW dealer and they even matched the price NN was selling at :D

So any headers fit any can? Eg MIVV? Are MIVV any good? Price is definately appealing

Thanks for the response. I'm convinced it's a good thing to do, but just don't know which headers to go for. I guess the Akrapovic are the most common, but stainless or Ti....What's the difference apart from weight and £150.....or is that it?

I saw a GS fitted with an AC Schnitzer can at Garmisch that looked really good, will that fit Akra ti headers?

The ti will go a lovely blue colour (search for skid06 on here, his look great). The SS ones will go brown. I had SS on my last GSA, which look great, but have got ti for the new one, as I fancy a change.

Don't forget the lovely colours that Ti goes with the heat, performance is the same.

Ti all the way, feather weight, got mine from Calsport

I had an AC Schnitzer can with Akra headers on my old Triple Black. Works well. The can is just a re-badged Remus Hexacone.

This are the Mivv headers. Look and sound good to me. I coupled them with a Leo Vince silencer (no baffle)

Thanks guys, now I know I need the ti headers, will work well with the racing blue bike:thumb
Love the look of them on your bike Skid.
Nutty thanks for the contact at Calsport, I'll be ordering them from Chris.
Cheers,
Darren
