Which engine oil ? 1150

Thread revival.

I have been on to BMW and they feel that an 1150 GS "using a bit of oil" should use 20w50 castrol oil. I have a mate in the motor trade that is getting on to his suppliers to see if he can get me an oil with this spec... SAE 20W50, API SG, JASO MA. If he can Im going to order a larger quantity, anyone in Ireland want some ? I suspect the price should be "right" .

Luke. I bought some Rock Oil Guardian 20w50 (4L) from a chap in the north. Got it on eBay. £23 + £7 postage. I might be dreaming but the engine feels a good bit smoother (then again the last oil change was 3 years ago).

Said he can also get 25L drums too....

I'm starting a 370 mile a week commute soon so I figure mine might too

I have a feeling the drum would be in the region of £120 - £130

I use Motul 3000 same spec @ around €19/4l
