I know this is asked fairly regularly but it’s hard to drag anything meaningful out of a search as ‘QD’ is too short :D

I want to fit fuel line quick disconnects to my 1100. I’d prefer brass or stainless (not plastic / cast zinc). Any recommendations / part numbers?

aye... it does seem just a little odd to be ordering something like this from America. And to be honest i wouldn't want to have to faff around with 'non -original' parts... not for something that's as crucial as this.

I have no idea.. its not a part I've deemed important enough to replace. My tank never moves from one year to the next. Apart from being lifted to access the battery. I had a new fuel filter fitted when the tank was swapped. So.. seems pointless to me to be buying parts I'm not going to need for at least another few years. I'll probably reconsider when the next fuel filter needs to go in.

In 5 years the tank has come off completely. Once.

Good for you :thumb2

However, I'd like an 'all metal' QD solution - the search continues...

Well bully for you, but then again my tank comes off at least once a year for a variety of jobs: everything from a good clean to tweaking the wiring. Also, a lot of people who camp with their bikes or who ride long journeys use QDs so that they can carry some pipe with a spare QD to drain fuel for their stoves or for other bikes who have run out. Maybe you just aren't using your bike enough :toungincheek

i fitted some this weekend......didnt even take the tank off, cut the hoses in situ and slotted them in.

No more trying to wiggle the pipes off the injector pipes whilst trying to find something to block the gush of petrol for me....happy days :)

That's exactly why I want some :D

Which disconnects did you use?

Did you fit them in opposite directions? It stops you confusing which is which as they will only connect to the right line :thumb2

Try www.omega.co.uk for chrome brass plated QD fittings. I've just fitted them to my 1150GSA. You'll need the FT-LCD series fittings. There was considerable discussion on Advrider re. whether the standard O-rings were petrol compatible or needed replacing with viton versions. I called Omega and spoke to one of their engineers who told me the O-rings have been altered and are absolutely fine to use with petrol.

Part nos. that I ordered as below

1 x FT-LCD230-04
1 x FT-LCD170-04
2 x FT-LCD170-05
2 x FT-LCD220-05

The 05 suffix is for the 5/16" fittings for the standard fuel lines and should be the ones you need on the 1100. The 04 suffix is for the 1/4" fittings, which are only needed for the link pipe on the larger Adv tank.

They cost me about £80 plus VAT for all 6 fittings.

Hope that helps.

I should have mentioned that these are exactly the same design as the OE fittings and have the same shutoffs, just made out of metal, so should be less prone to breakage.

I'm looking into fitting some quick disconnects, I've got an '03 GS, will I need 8mm parts when chosing QD's?

Thanks
Denny

Am I right in saying Triumph have QD fuel line conectors?

Just wondering out loud, many moons ago my EXUP footpeg rubbers were worn out and Speed III ones were the same but 1/3 price.

If Triumph ones are crappy placcy, too, excuse the but-in.
