Which headlight guard

I have a Cymarc guard and have to say it is brilliant. as regards to cleaning behind this is no problem Most of the dirt and flies stay on the Cymarc guard. if the actual led light needs cleaning them it is very easy to insert a damp cloth behind and use a sawing type motion.

Cymarc make some very good products for a fair price.

I have the touratech metal grill and plastic guard. None of them that practical, if you are using them in the dark. with either reflection(plastic) or outlines (metal) on the road. the plastic one like one of the other posters, AndyB, is all cracked around the bolt holes.

I have just ordered the Wunderlich headlight protector, a great bit of kit that hinges down to clean the headlamp and back of the protector!

nothing bad to say about the Touratech guard. Does its job and looks tough!

Any chance you could take a photo from a distance, looking straight at the bike, with the LED light on, so we can see if it affects the appearance of the light to oncoming traffic please?

How does it affect the light spread at night?

You wont really see in a photo with the light on, but the headlight guard causes shadows in the light pattern. Its not terrible, but the light is definitely better without it. Must be the same for all metal type protectors though.

Good to know. I have the Wunderlich one as I was concerned about this but the metal one does look a lot better.

Ah ok thanks. I guess what I'd need to do is angle my LED spot lights up a bit and have them on all the time :augie

Headlight guard

It would be useful for people with headlight guards to comment on using them at night.
I have tried the flat perspex type and find a lot of light reflected back, not a problem in urban areas but a pain out in the pitch dark sticks.
The bmw item looks the biz and may not reflect back:nenau

Yes I have the BMW one and even on the darkest night I cannot see any difference on or off..

Just fitted the Z-Technik guard and very impressed so far. Extremely easy to fit and you don't notice it at all. Does not affect the light at night in anyway and would recommend others to have look at it.

Any good? I've been looking at these.

Sorry missed this :blast

Yes very. Can't notice it is there with no affect on light output at all. Not tried to smack it with a hammer but apparently is very good at protecting your expensive lamp. See XPel website (they are US based).
