Which Heated Jacket/Waistcoat?

Sorry to re-open this thread.....

BUT.....
  • Anyone got a Chilli vest?
  • Can you get a plug for the BMW accessory socket?
  • Is the loom long enough if you use the std socket on the left side of the GS?

I like the Chilli vest, I like the price and a mate has one, but he doesn't own a GS and it works very well on his non-GS BeeEmm....

Anyone got a Chilli vest?

I have a chilli vest and excellent they are I've had it for 3 years now.
I looked at using the GS BMW socket but did not fancy having the wire around my feet so I used the Chilli supplied fused cable and connector which pokes out of the edge of the seat. It is connected directly to the Bty terminals as it is supplied with an in line fuse. I worked on the theory that even though it is unswitched, if I was not on the bike it would be disconected. The connector is easy to use with gloved hands and lives under the seat in the summer (when it gets here). I have two cables fitted so the wife is toasty to.

I have a klan heated waist coat heated collar keeps my neck warm as the heat goes up
dont need the thermostat
buy the Bmw socket plugs into my assc socket on the beak nice and warm :D

I recently bought a Chilli for our Morocco trip and hard wired it to the bike, mounting the heat controller to the l/h mirror stalk. I'm sure that it's an excellent bit of kit that would have kept me very warm in the High Altas had it not been for the clutch lever slicing through my super-neat (but poorly routed) wiring!

It's very good vfm compared to some of the others.

Bought Chilli in the end and decidced to use the standard fused wiring to the battery and locate the control on the left side on the bike using their velcro. Seems to fit and give moevemnt but we'll see when I use it in anger.... been to warm lately to give it a go!
