May I recommend a Yorkshire made product manufactured just up the road from you.

You might want to have a look at the rear racks that we offer for the F650/F800GS :augie

In black or silver...............

Stormforce I dont want to rain on your parade but why are there no slots on the opposing side of the rack nearest the seat. If you put a bag like an Ortlieb across the rack there is nowhere to feed the straps through because there are only round holes. Both the Touratech rack and the adv-spec rack have slots all the way around. I had a Touratech rack but changed it in favour of the adv one because the slots are parallel to each other and not set at an angle by following the lines of the edge of the rack. That way the straps don't slide. :thumb2

I have a *ahem* TT stainless rack, with a Givi universal plate & topbox fitted. It works well.

I believe Stahlkoffer also make one, similar to the Adv Spec design below.

+ 1 for the rugged Roads Kit. spoilt for choics silver or black.

I like the extra tie down on the sides so when the luggage is Wider than the rack you can secure easier and the price is very reasonable (cheaper than most others)

Still I supose when you get something designed and put together by Bikers for Bikers its got to be good all round :thumb2

Ps Stormforce8 thanks to you and your lovely Lady for the bucket of Coffee and hospitality on Sunday:thumb2, your place is like farkelers Heaven :D :D

I designed the rack that way because in the 24yrs I've been riding and strapping stuff down to bike I've never needed to pass a strap through that point:thumb2 and the folds on the side i feel give a nicer look than a flat plate with some holes and slots
peeps pays their money and takes their choice we have sold loads and had no complaints:thumb2
hope this helps:D

I must admit I do like the fold downs. It's good to have choice and variation in the market.

In the early days of riding I had this setup

having learnt my lessons I have scaled down the luggage (although in the photo above I was taking spare gear to Austria for my GF) and would prefer to now have a smaller Ortlieb lengthways along the seat which would work with your rack Chad. No way I would get that yellow bag to do that. It was nearly bigger than me

Another option, the SW Motech Alurack. I've got one and it does what it needs to. I also have the quick detach Givi topcase adaptor and it gives the flexibility to use it how you want.
