Which panniers??

i'd get the new wolfman softies from winding roads. if you're only doing tarmac, then hard cases are fine, but if you want to do any off-roading, the soft options are a better call, cheaper, and much much lighter. wish i hadn't bought hard cases now and will probably go for softs in the near future.

Wise words. I used the ortlieb soft motorcycle panniers. I've hung onto them and will go onto my next bike which I suspect will be lighter and even more dirt orientated.

These look like a great alternative to hard luggage. Does anyone have these already? From the look of them, I just need a pannier rack (e.g. BMW one) and they can hang on these?

Any chance of an under tail/seat shot of the mounting points (front & back) of the vario racks??????????/

that is they. i think i'll retire my hard cases this week and order a set of these for this summer. a friend in finland just got some a few weeks ago and was highly impressed. yeah, they fit on pretty much any rack.

Having the OEM alu frame, I've been told to be careful about the distance between the panniers and the exhaust

Here's what Eric sent me a while ago. Pity cause I like them, but not willing to change the frame

The Racks seem like they will accept the bags.* But the Measurement from the top Horizontal bar to the bottom should be no more than 9 ½ inches.* On the Exhaust side (visible in the picture) seems to contour around the exhaust.* Because the vertical bars are not used the bags could get very close to the pipe, any damage to the bags from the pipes is not warranted.* Be very careful.*

I've not used them yet but I've just got a pair of expandable pannier liners for my varios, they sort the problem of being able to take stuff out the panniers on the bike without it all falling out! They keep everything extra waterproof and will make taking my kit into hotels or my tent alot easier!
