Which tyre plugger repair kit?

Got one in my back tyre at the moment......been there for approx' 2000 miles, and the pressure has not moved. They are considered to be a temporary fix, but i've no intention of changing the tyre until it's worn out.....some might disagree, saying that the tyre should be changed straight away ......................each to his own IMHO..... :)

Even better (possibly!) just buy a small hand pump from a bicycle shop, works even if your power socket decides to play silly buggers :D

Ever tried pumping up a complete flat with a portable pump?
After I had a go I bought a portable compressor ........
Mind you a serious bicycle track pump is fine - I use one in me garage, but its way too big to carry on the bike.

As an aside, anyone know of a UK source for the gummy string things?

These are the best thing I've found for all round flat fixing. I have got a mini StopnGo but a few tests on an old tyre revealed it doesn't cover all eventualities. There are also many reports of the mushrooms failing due to being cut by the belting in the tyre carcass. The plugs I regard as a get me home fix, but I've run tyres with string fixes for thousands of miles. If I'm going out in the boonies I carry both string and the StopnGo.

Best advice I've got is whatever fix or pump solution you decide on, have a go in the comfort of you're own garage first - discovering something doesn't work as adverstised when your hundreds of miles from home is not a good thing. You'll probably be late and it will be pissing down and dark :D
