my local dealer told me to stick with Tourances (original not the EXP's) and the one tyre he was definately against was the Anakees! I am about to change to Roadsmarts apparently great for wet and dry but of course a road sports touring tyre. Its my choice but the dealer is still telling me to stick with Tourances because its a GS and nota sports tourer. depending on what i read here in the next while as i have a small amount left on my tourances I may change my mind and if I do it will be to stay on Tourances. I have been happy with them.:thumb2

I have Anakees on my 1100, and I'll be putting another pair on when the current ones wear. They're fine, I have no issues or problems with them.

2nd set of tyres on my 2004 GS were Anakees. worked fine, no issues or gripes other than mileage wasn't as good.

Went back to Tourances for the next set of tyres, and was amazed at the difference, they just felt better all round. So I've stuck with Tourances since.

Hi irishbiker, I have had michelin anakee tyres on my bike from new. The rear lasted 6,000 mile and I just changed the front tyre which had 14,000 on it for the Anakee Two tyre, I think they are a pretty good tyre. The front cost £86.
I think if your happy with the Tourance tyre, stick to what you know though.

Hi Irish Biker

Used tourance on my original 1150 went through about 6 sets no problem,
1st new 1200GSA came with Anakee's, side walls to much flex and makes the bak end slide especially in the rain. Changed to Tourance curred all problems. New GSA came fitted with Tourance EXP very soft and flat spotted after about 3k changed at just under 4k and put on Michelen Pilot 2, excelent tyre in wet or dry at present done 5k and should be good for another couple of thousand if not more.
