Which tyres should I get?

Too knobbly.

Nutty, you are going to the Dolomites, to hoon awesome roads on your awesome steed. Maybe maxing it out down the autobahn, too. Any available road tyre will do you.... Even up those fire trails.

We'll probably be avoiding the 'bahn, and sticking to the back roads, so I'll have to find something appropriate, without knobbly bits.

Anything (except the manly chunky ones) will definitely do you. There are plenty of threads and posts within the Holy Church of the 1200 WC section on what's best; you've even participated in some yourself, fulsomely. If still unsure....Black and round, seems to be the only single uniform conclusion drawn.



PS Most with manly chunks only have them to attempt the awesome speed bumps on the approach to Tesco.... Standing up, natch. One or two have been known to clout their mellon on the height restrictors, too. I did see somebody do that.

We'll see how they feel after a long weekend coming up. I can adapt to the turn in, but I'll have to see how I get on with the harsher ride and whether that softens up with a few miles on them.

So, how are the PR4's now? Any better?

I've been away for some time (and not at Her Majesty's Pleasure) but see Avon don't seem to be doing road tyres (Azaro's/ST's etc) in 19" anymore.

If this 'new' Anakee the only road biased tyre available in 19" now?

Quite like the heart attacks new to me, my favourite is the Dunlop TR91 but not yet available.?

Dunlop roadsmarts come in a 19" fitment. I have them fitted. They transform the ride. Get some. Dont know why they aint more popular. I do 99% of my riding on the road and these tyres are ace.

Just done 150 miles around Scottish Borders on PR4's and they are chalk and cheese different to the OE Metzelers, which also squared off in less than 3K. Loads more feel and the handling is sublime. Been home an hour and still struggling to get the smile off my face.

Don't have any intention of going off road so cannot see the point of ever having dual purpose tyres on the WC again. Made a great bike even better.
