Thinking of getting COD4 but after running canyourunit.com I find that the video card installed is not good enough for the game. They recommend GeForce 6600+.

Is this good enough or is there another as good or better?

Also, are they easy to install?

Get the best card you can afford to give yourself future compatability.

The Gforce range is now in the 8000 series.....

You'll get an 8600 for £55.......

Just check what type of slot you have...PCI16 or AGP.........AGP slots are generally the smaller brown slots.
Fitting is a piece of pish- there will be instructions in the case but basically power off, open case, ground yourself to remove static, undo screw holding base plate of card, release small white catch that hold card onto Mobo and pull it free.....do operation in reverse to fit new card.

Oooo.....You're going to have to check power cables and if your PSU is up to it...on the tech details on the page about the new cards it should give you a recommended power supply- if yours is old, you may not have the wattage to run a flash new card.

Also check you have a spare power lead if the new card needs it.....a lot of modern cards can't take all their juice from the Mobo, they need a separate power supply but you ought to have one spare in the case :)

Here ya go....the requirements on that card above (which is a good card for not a lot I reckon ;) )...my commenst in red....

# 512MB of system memory (You should have this?)
# CD or DVD-ROM drive (Durr!)
# 50MB of available hard disk drive space for basic driver installation (Shouldn't be a problem)
# Microsoft Windows Vista or XP operating system (Presumably on XP?)
# PCI Express-compliant motherboard with one vacant PCI Express x16 slot (Check you don't have an older AGP style slot.....)
# 350W PCI Express-compliant system power supply** (That's really not too bad as a requirement...most new PC's have 450 w PSU's at least)
# One 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors (Yup, you need a seperate power supply to card inside case)
