I'm a new owner of a gs1150 03 and I just noticed( it was probably there since I got it) a whistling sound coming from front of bike when I apply the front brake. All lights are normal so should I panic now or just relax and wait for another owner to tell me that they all do that? All replies gratefully received. Thanks

You must put a price on anything in the for sale forum :D :D

If it's a wolf whistle I might be interested, depending on price, but if it's just a nonchalant whistle while you work kind of whistle you be better off sticking it on ebay :aidan

If you get together with Faantjie, he has a musical GS as well, you may be able to do a little Busking:rolleyes:

whistling

don't use the front brake.

OK I'll do the sensible answer then.

It sounds like you have servo brakes fitted. Try pressing the rear brake on its own, If that whistles as well then you have servo brakes. If it is servos then the brakes are linked.

Thabks for the info so far.so whats with the noise and should I panic or just ignore it.I stepped off a bullet proof Africa twin to buy this bike and am not used to unusual noises

Ask a straight question!!! :D

As Rob mentioned, it will be the servos - all normal but can sound like you are about to be 'beamed up' by Scottie if you are not used to it!
