Hola Mucheros ,

Has any one got the Brembo R/K1100 4 pot caliper fitted to their Machine ?.
If you have , would you take yer Verniers out and have a wee measure for me .
How Much is Actually machined of the Lugs . ? .

Please .

hi just got one of litlfun of here , havent fitted it yet (lazy git me ) but get hold of him and he,ll give you all the info :thumby:

4.5mm in my case. Made a jig and did it on my router table.

The only modification needed is to remove 0.158” off the caliper mounting tabs. This keeps the rotor centered to the caliper. I double checked the measurement and came within a few thousandths of and inch….good enough.

From Here LINKY

Tell your tools person to either go DAMN Slow or really tightly mount the calliper body

You Do NOT want to see what a mill and a sharp bit can make a calliper do!!!

I tacke 1,8 mm of them thats just the lugs its aboute 1mm aut of center but the pistons ajust them self to that diferance I lob them off with the angel grinder or sawthem off and then file them dwn now as the CNC machine is prity dangerus as they arnt the east thing to hold down !!!

Have any of you guys fitted another master cylinder from another bike ?if so what did you go for .

I find the Brembo 4 pot works best with a 14mm Master Cylinder which on a GSPD means boring out a 13mm and fitting a 14mm kit, 13mm has too much travel and 15mm is too wooden. Has a ratio in the region of 27 from the above link!

But I am also using the 320mm HE disc.

Interesting that. I fitted the 4-pot as supplied by litelfun and had about 1.5mm (or so) machined off the tabs. It's pretty OK and I also have the original 13mm master cylinder too. Maybe when the engines run in I might want better braking but so far so good.

One Less Harley

If you follow Dr Farkoffs link , you will See that " One Less Harley " has spent quite an Amount of Time coming to
his Conclusion. There are Quite a few threads about it on Adv.
I have bought a Caliper and Have been playing with my micro meter .
I will post the results when i get the Caliper Back from Machining .

I know your machinist is probably experienced The man I went to is retired and worked 50 years plus at it
He was mighty surprised when the calliper jumped out

I have had to have a Wee Jig Made to hold these in Place for machining.
So these will be Level and the correct depth.
Any of you with these calipers that need machined , drop me a PM

Centered with new pads in place . Using a "laser alignment" tool .
And a good old fashioned Scribe.
Nicely machined to the contour of the Fork leg mount brackets .

I am definitely looking at getting my money back from the Wee Jig , theres no fortune involved
but if you want one machined , or just want a plug and play item ..
Your in the Right place

brembo 4 pot

a lot of contravershe over nothing I have had them cnc machined angelgrinded down but now I just hack saw the lugs of und a file doues the rest thats tacking then 1,8mm of and is aut of center 1mm but what the hell the pistons just ajust thier self no mater what distamce that is self that way your not afchting the stabily of the caliper that much if you have a crash and some one sees you have machined 4 mm off your bracke caliper even if your not at foult i am shure your inshurance will be voide but just lobing thouse lugs off no body will notice that ok so its 1mm aut of center thats nothing but still looks original thats the impotant thing just licke my wp front end it has a bmw front caliper so it looks original ;) I have a frend hu cnc for me but because of the difercuties with holding them down and it reall is a piece of piss to tacke the lugs off my self with a hacksaw if your not happy with what i say you can all ways tacke more off but its hard to put more back on i have hade some 20 calpers to date on my bicke :thumb

jeh i have had a 13 ,15 and 16mm
with the 13mm to much travel and for 15 and 16 you need a gun licence ;-)
15 for 4 poter and 16mm is great for 6 poter
