I've got one on order for my F800, it's the deluxe verion with 360 degree periscope, and emergency GPS flotation marker beacon...

It's the 1450 ... great piece o' kit

My wifes got the 1400 on her F650 but it's a bit small really. I've got the Storm im2200 which is the same size as the Peli 1450 but the catches are a bit easier to open.

I need more practice Gunz before I go that deep ... I need to learn to keep the bike vertical, the snorkel system doesn't work when the bike is on its side

Run Tourances on my 800GS find them great on the road but the front does wear at the same rate as the back get about 5500miles out of a pair

WHAT? I get 14,000 miles out of a pair of Tourances on my R1150GS.

I'm getting an F800GS in the New Year and I hope I do not get as little from the tyres as you do!

I'm getting an F800GS in the New Year and I hope I do not get as little from the tyres as you do!

I must be hard on tyres as that is my average milage, I have done 48,000 miles on my 2 800gs and that is the average mileage I get from Tourance but I also have had Tourance on the 1100 gs 1150gs 1150gsa 1200gs 1200gsa I have owned over the years and have had similar mileage on them all.
I did a 4500 mile round trip to Istanbull earlier this year with the F800GS on Tourance and took the tyres off at 5500 (they still had a couple of thousand on them, but in my opinion thats down to Eastern Europe and Turkey having no grip on mainly shiny roads!). Later this year I put TKC's on to go to Kiruna Sweden and Narvik Norway and after 3600 miles of grippy tarmac and gravel roads the back was illegal when I arrived in Hull! With the Tourance back on done west coast of Ireland and another 1000 miles and they are still OK I reckon another 1500 miles before they need changing now thats a record for me.
When I got my current GS it was fitted with Anakees, incredible grip and feel but after a 2000 mile trip round Scotland's grippy roads saw them off at 3800 miles!
Tourance are the best tyres in my opinion for the F800GS but not recomended by BMW.
But I suppose it depends on the road surfaces you ride on and how you use the throttle.

At 65,000 miles I'm still on my original front pads ... so some my say I ride like a wuss

But a quick count up shows I've had 24 tyres in that mileage

The 1450 is just an ideal size ... the NetBook sits in the lid, suspended on straps. First Aid kit, chain spray, puncture repair, few bits'n bobs also fit in there, along with a 12v supply/USB so that I can charge my 'phone, camera, iPod etc.

That does look spot on (though i think i'll need to upgrade to a SSD before i put the netbook in!) I'm looking at the iM2200 also so will try and see the two in the flesh to make the final decision.

At a guess, I'd say 240 - 250.

btw, I came through St Albans last Sunday whilst on a ride out.

Just fitted chain and sprockets to mine, re-greased the swing arm bearings and now 'starting the year' at 65,785 miles

My F800GS has 7240 miles Hardly any comparison lol
