Can't believe it's 5 years since you've had the 800GS, that's gone quickly. Didn't you chop a 1200GSA in for it?
Dave

....hopefully! The mpg readout should help to encourage smooth restrained riding - I'm frequently seeing 80-100mpg when chuffing along in top.
.....8,000 Miles since January 7th and they need changing for the THIRD time. Forth time if you count the fact they were changed when the dealer acquired the bike.

Good going Micky!
How's the clutch been? I had the 36,000 mile service done a couple of weeks ago (a bit late at about 38k) and was told the clutch may need replacing soon as the cable slack was all used up!! WTF??!! My 09 Tenere has over 130k miles on it's original clutch........![]()

Mickey or Rick, have you guys done brake rotors yet?
Any advice?

Only changed rear brake pads (organic). Just hope the front brake discs last somewhere near as long as those on my Tenere.
Mickey, which "aftermarket" discs/pads have you had (a) bad experience(s) with?
Never had any issues myself with non-OE "packaged" consumables.

Lots of motorway use, engine braking???![]()

) and I had a bad case of pitting (corrosion due to the dissimilar metals with sintered pads) on my Tenere's front discs during its first winter. I also value disc longevity over that of the pads.I had the 36,000 mile service done a couple of weeks ago (a bit late at about 38k) and was told the clutch may need replacing soon as the cable slack was all used up!!
