Is the gearbox in the 1200 still made by Getrag like the 1100/1150 don't have a problem just wondered if it's still farmed out

By the way it sounds when the gears mesh it has to be Fred Dibnah.

After owning a Montego! with a VW gearbox in it - I can confirm it doesn't matter who makes it if the design is compromised by the purchaser!
VW Golf gearbox was ace, Montego was useless owing to the bearings being replaced by cheaper ones at BL's request!
Getrag make and design some superb gearboxes, they also assemble ones designed elsewhere!
