(I had an 1100GS which never went off tarmac, oh the shame. Great bike and was sorry to see it go).

Well, just a reminder (if one is needed) that you don't need a fancy £20K bike to have a big(ish) adventure. Even at 27 years and 90,000 miles the only problems were a blown front shock (Wilbers, since rebuilt by Denz0), a leak from the oil pressure switch (2 minute fix) and a slight incompatibility with the aftermarket ECU chip and lousy fuel. It just keeps on purring along - what a great bike!

Great pictures 3 D; i have an old 1100 which i love ; i've tried the off road riding but spent more time upside down than on the wheels due to me being crap. It looks like a massive adventure was had.

The bike doesnt matter, back in the day 1999, the 1100 and 1150 were the best there was, the roads or landscape havent changed, only peoples desire and needs for a 1250 or 1300!

Used the 1250 for a recent Austrian tour, however, at home the 1150 is always without fail first choice when I want to go out for a run

I'm lucky that I have a wife who enjoys this foolishness as much as I do - difficult to swing a trip like this if your other half isn't interested.
