Just wonder who races their 450 and how they get on ?
I didn't know the Warranty was void if you raced the bike! i thought it was only if the message came up on the speedo saying that it had been over revved for a period of time. I've had parts replaced under warranty with no problems what so ever, my bike has actually had race numbers on it when it has gone in for repair.
Well I'm in South Africa it might be different there. The shit we put up with this side. Also I know over the pond you are allowed to service your own bike and retain warranty if you buy original parts, that does not fly here. Would be curious to know if that is the case in the UK please let me know what you find out Sammo.
I have done all my own servicing with BMW parts and oil bought from the dealer, this is all you need to keep the warranty valid.

Dave

I race my 450 (and green lane it to)
It is the most unreliable dirt bike I have ever owned, however my dealer has always sorted out the problems. I have nevered had to pay for a thing.
New rear wheel, throttle body, wiring loom, handle bars, clutch, alternator and the list goes on. I have a 11 hour old engine complete with throttle body and ecu and many spare. I like the bike, got it set up and its competitive, just need to see if it will keep running for two days in a row!!!
. do some rally stuff and som green laning.did they let you keep the replaced parts? i.e. spare engine. what happened to the original bars? surely that wasn't BMW's fault. I have burned the clutch out on one of my 450's also there was an issue with a bolt coming loose on the alternator i think. Rear wheel? what happened there?

)
I did 2 years on that with only one issue which was a blown fork seal. To be honest I'm not the fastest rider in the world but that said I'm not the slowest either. I've fitted the plug for full power tho I'll fit a switch to the bars so I can switch between the two on the fly. .
you live at seaham in co durham?
you can get out with us on some lanes if you fancy it
