Hi I am a newbie. This is a little story about me and my mate's adventure that went a bit wrong. We both ride R1150GS. It was last weekend when we took a trip up to the Lake districts. The weather was good, the roads were great and the scenery was magical. It was all going so well until my mates bike suddenly developed a clutch fault. The lever would pull but it wasn't holding the clutch. The problem was temporarily fixed by bleeding, but the problem came back after an hour or so riding. On Sunday we headed back to London, my mate was riding in front of me in case the problem occured and needed help. During a fuel stop I noticed my back tyre was very shiny, under closer inspection I noticed the tyre and drive shaft was covered in what looks like engine oil. Obviously I decided it was not fit to go on. My gs was covered in oil and my mates was riding clutchless. We decided to call for recovery and luckily the man with the van managed to fit both our bikes on. It was quite a sight; seeing two supposedly uber efficient bmws on a recovery van. So any guess as to why my drive shaft and back tyre is covered in oil and why my mates clutch just gave up.
