£350??? - Who told you that?

When I bought my bike I bought an additional black tinted screen which cost the same price as the std clear screen = £146. I sold my std clear screen to another tosser who told me that the extra parts required for it to fit the GS was (if I remember) about £150+ ish give or take or a bit more?? Might even been £200+ anyway it was very high for the extras.

Since most on here have never been further than the next village why:-

do you need the bigger tank

need the spoked wheels - as alloy are better for road use.

bigger screen is not always best.

I have only needed the bigger tank once when crossing europe but if needed I could have found some juice easy enough.

I think a lot of this GSA is better, more planted etc is just so that people can say - mine is bitter than yours - and Ewan had one of these.

and yes - I have had several GSA's - very reluctant to get another

the one thing you can say about the GSA - it has more bits to corrode.

I wouldn't say I needed a bigger tank - but I also have a RD350R and that does about 140-160ish per tank and it just bugs me to keep filling it up! The range of the GSA tank is great!

I actually like the alloy wheels on the GS - easier to clean - but the adventurer came with them and they look the part! O and how is alloy better for road??

Bigger screen reduces wind in your face, quieter ride etc

There's no snobbery on my part between a GS and a GSA - it's just a matter of preference!

 what do you mean the GSA has more bits to corrode??

jeez.... I paid about £250 including delivery for a new one from a dealer.

I thought they were all the same, however the way it was discribed to me was the standard G.S is an 'entry level' machine.

And you believed that?

The GS and GSA stand side by side, they each have a bias.....road and off-road. As with all bikes, there are accessories to be had, which owners use to make their own bike into what they want. If I'd gone out and bought a GSA I'd have been compromising the wrong way, as it is I've got a GS with more off-road ability than a standard one, without the extra GSA weight and the parts I bought to adapt it are those which many GSA owners would have upgraded to anyway, so I've saved mucho dinero.

Neither bike is better than the other, they are different that's all.
