My 2610 is wired into an 'always on' switched supply. That it, it's only live when the ignition is on. OK, there are some disadvantages, but I'm happy.
I have run the relevant Autocom lead from the GPS back to the Autocom Pro 7 which is mounted in my tool tray under the seat. The cable is about 20 cms shorter than I'd like, but nonetheless it's there.
The cable goes in the little black isolator box that also accepts my phone, should I wish to use my phone.
However, I hear not a squeak from Gertie Garmin. I wondered if I'd got the sound turned off, but no. In the car, using the Garmin car lead, I can clearly hear the routing instructions.
I have tried both the A and B sockets of the isolator box to see if that's the point of error.
I'm flummuxed!
