put the eject/close button under the tray on cd-roms so they are so awkward to reach when the tray is open

i know you can just push the tray in, but i'd rather use the button

Most but no all PC's you can open and more usefull close the CG/DVD tray from within windows

Right Click in explorer ~ eject for instance.

Yes, ejecting is easy. But as cookie said, getting the tray back in is the problem.

My DVD rewriter (primary, chnl 2) closes itself when I boot if it's open but the CD rewriter (secondary, chnl 2) doesn't. I don't know if that's a thing with the firmware (if drive open > x seconds then close) or something else. It would be nice if the O/S had a close feature like it has an eject feature.
