Why do you think the cracked brake disc caused you to crash ?
I've ridden bikes with cracked discs before and no problems.
an old GT750 i had that was effectively a rat bike - albeit a clean one
- had a disc cracked almost exactly the same as yours.
Still stopped perfectly ok

This one wouldn't - Pan's are no different to any other bike, held together with cheap shite components which fur, corode or rust at the sign of salt and the paint is the thinnest on any bike I've ever experienced.
Having said all of that - mine never got that bad
Have you had a look at the disc pads on the side with the cracked disc, one or both might show signs of being chewed up or other damage if it snatched the broken edge of the disc and snagged the wheel or stopped it going round.
I am confused to, all i see is a cracked disc, i dont see how it would cause you to crash, a paint job and a new set of discs then it should be fine, or is there more damage

i have had 2 previous pans (one which looked same as one in pic) i still own one and ride it ,as well as a gsa .( ad only waste the money onyway on hooskeepin n decoratin n domestic shit ) i have done many miles on pans in a conditions, n the thing wi them i feel is they are so well planted n stable that when the roads are shitty ye simply just cant feel quickly enough when its starting to go wrong its a big long machine an by the time ye feel it its near too late. The ride on the gsa is a more fluid affair and the feedback is (especially wi the wide bars) much more sensitive and imidiate.i dinna recon the disc caused yer tumble i recon ye were jist a wee bit unlucky wi where the front wheel went .ps a few weeks ago 3 o us up top end o loch lomond me in front ok, man at back ok, man in middle HUGE moment all aboot the same speed n the same level o competence i recon some times its just yer luck to spot that wee tiny discoloration in road surface

I suppose none of us will ever know what exactly caused the crash but as I was right behind you I can vouch for how quickly the bike went from under you and how treacherous the conditions on that small stretch of road were
I am however certain that your discs/wheel and forks didn't look anywhere near as corroded as they do now. There would have been a lot of salt sprayed over them in during your run over to Dalkeith that morning and then sitting out in winter weather at the garage would soon have helped the corrosion on. I havn't even cleaned my bike since that run, did give it a quick rinse with some hot water to get the salt off.
Ye should've used cauld waater ye ninny.....
Hot water dissolves the salt crystals and leaves you with a saline solution in all the nooks and crannies in which you don't want a saline solution - especially a saline solution which has been made even more corrosive because it's hot.
Not bad, only took a few minutes to get a catch, even at this early hour of the morning. Just trying to deflect a bit of the flack from SS

It was a genuine wind up and I had located a fishing smilie before my original post and I did feel a tiny bit guilty with Mike's helpful explanation, though the 'ninny' bit was enough for me to complete my catch
