Why the deeper header on UKGser?

I've just taken the plunge and bought a Dell Mini9 netbook, which is really small and ideal for taking with me on my travels...

However, this has coincided with a sudden increase in the depth of the headers on UKGSer, so much so that when I open up a browser window, I get a screenful of header, whereas before I got to see something useful....

Is there any way to swtich the headers off?

Apart from the Mini9 not having an F11 key , switching to full screen makes a bit of a difference, but there's still far too much screen real estate used up by the header, and I get tired wrists scrolling down to read all the very witty posts (Garfield's especially )

So could we have a "no headers" option, peerrrleeasse?

you've posted your request in the wrong section, you need to fill out a ES119 in triplicate, the green sheet goes to Aidan, the blue one to BHT, you keep the white one though.....

It is a little big. I only get the top half of the scrolling text for events as well

Ad's .. Necessary to keep site going..

BUT.. the massive UKGSER logo (They don't put up a massive PORN to remind you you're on a hand shandy site ) is unnecessary and the stale uninteresting photos are plain sh1te.. (relevance of a picture of a bun on some hanflebars that I've seen a few thousand times )

Just "eye-candy", serves no purpose whatsoever.

I agree, the header takes 1/2 my screen. Lose the photos. Put the logo to left, then the ads. Ticker below or even at bottom of screen.

I think you are running with a different size/style font - the "ticker" is in a specific sized frame.
