Why would MRA do this?

I'm tearing my hair out trying to plot aroute on MRA, using the HERE routing and maps as want to export to XT, but it keeps doing daft things like this along the route. The more points I put in to fix it the more convoluted it gets. Makes Basdecamp look flawless. Help!

Could it just be a setting problem ?.
I must admit, I don't get on with it myself. so I'm no expert.but I'd start by looking at the route set up.

Have you set those points, or have you only given it a start/finish destination?

I've just planned a route as similar to yours as I can get it using the HERE map and it works fine with no diversions.

In the past, the only time I have got a similar problem was when I switched a planned route from the HERE Map to the TomTom map and if a Waypoint then sits directly on a cross road or similar, sometimes the route would get altered.

It has a start and a finish plus some other via points to which I added 40 shaping points using the expand option to keep the route from deviating to much - the HERE routing always seems to make odd routes compared to the OSM routing, but it’s what’s MRA say to use if exporting to a Garmin gadget

It maybe because I created it using the OSM map and routing initially. I’ll try again using it ‘native’

Then it'll be the routing chosen; eg if you selected a pref for more/less corners, or elevation changes, or to avoid towns etc.

Sorted, reloaded the route into MRA and all good, must have just been a memory problem?

I’ve had this before where the pin was right on the centre of the road and it wasn’t sure which lane it was in and put it westbound instead of eastbound and added a loop like yours. Move the pin up a touch and it won’t happen again
